Layer 3 Services Pty Ltd was established in 2010 to conceive, develop, produce and market specialist equipment for ‘front line’ personnel – uniformed services and the managers, staff and consultants who deal with the day-to-day safety and security issues. The Directors have significant experience in Law Enforcement, Defence, National Security, Protective Security and in the provision of specialist security-related equipment to the public and private sectors. Layer 3 Services is a privately owned ‘Small to Medium Enterprise’ based in Australia.

Our Team
Don Williams is a recognized leader in the field of integrated security management. He received the Australian Security Medal in 2013 and is the author of more than 130 publications on security, risk, and emergency management.

Don was a bomb disposal technician with the Australian Army for more than 20 years, including three years as the Defense Technical Liaison Officer at the Australian Federal Police's Bomb Data Centre and two years with the British Army. He was also awarded the Certificate of Olympic Merit as the Bomb Risk Manager and Strategic Bomb Intelligence Officer for the Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Don holds qualifications and certification in security and related disciplines including:

● Certified Protection Professional (CPP) 2002

● Explosives Handling and Bomb Disposal Technician

● Security, Resource, Finance, Business, Workplace Assessment and Training Management

He is also honoured to be a Member or Board Member of:

Following a twelve year career in the British Army, Nigel joined the Federal Police and specialised in the then emerging Counter Terrorism responsibilities of the AFP. After transferring to the AFP Bureau of Criminal intelligence as an analyst, he joined PSCC, later part of the A-G's Department. His work was focussed in the CT Ops and Planning section. In 1989 French, was invited to manage a commercial company selling EOD equipment and services to law enforcement agencies and the military. He continues this service today through the medium of Layer 3 Services.
James is qualified as an Engineer in Electronics and Communications (Honours) and has a Masters of Business Administration (Technology Management). As a founder of Blue Glue, he has been instrumental in the invention of Blue Glue's products and systems.

He has extensive engineering experience with some 18 years leading Blue Glue, 11 years Information Technology management in Corporate and Government environments and previously 9 years in Defence where he received a Service Commendation. Those achievements include:

Alan Jones is a Director of Layer 3 Services (L3S). His background has been in key leadership roles across multiple start-ups and innovation enterprises. His focus has been on the sales & marketing, business development and channel management in the Construction, Retail, Defence and Government sectors. He has over 40 years’ experience working across multiple ventures. Alan has worked in many senior management roles in Grace Bros, Optus, Salmat, and Blue Glue.
